Tom Hanks is one of many celebrities and sports figures who is very eco-friendly and supports the search for alternative fuels.  To protect and save the environment the world must come up with alternative energy sources which will help to save the environment and cut back on fossil fuel pollution.   He is  strong advocate for the continued research and development of potential energy sources that do not harm the climate and the environment.  His voice is heard the world over because of his popularity as an actor and advocate for these issues.  He is also very active with the National Space Society.

The passion of Harrison Ford is to protect and save the environment.  Ford has been eco-friendly for a very long time and continues to support with his voice and his money environmental issues that affect the world.  He particularly like the organization Conservation International, which is one of the largest research groups for the environment.  It provides funding for scientists in over thirty countries to identify and overcome biodiversity threats.  It works in tropical wilderness areas and wetlands in particular.  Ford now sits on the Executive Committee of that organization after serving as chairman of the board.  He also supports Earthwise which is a group that educates people about conservation.

One of the many celebrities who is very eco-friendly has come into her own lately with the work that she does in film.  Cameron Diaz is very supportive of organizations that do work to improve, protect, and help with environmental issues from all over the world.  AT Live Earth in 2007 she introduced the leading bands and gave her support to this cause of protecting the climate and changing world opinion about eh importance of the environment.  She supports these groups with her voice and her money as well.  She has supported Act Green, Centre for Environmental Education, and the Environmental Media Association.

Al Gore has long been a very eco-friendly supporter of creating a better environment for the world.  His award winning book, An Inconvenient Truth, has been recognized as one of the best on the crisis of the environment that the world faces unless something is done. The Alliance for Climate Protection was founded by Al Gore and is dedicated to changing public opinion about the environment problems that we face and must answer.  He has become the driving force behind Live Earth which supports climate control to save the environment.  For his efforts Gore was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in late 2007 for his  fight on the environmental crisis.

You would certainly recognize Ed Begley Jr. as an actor and a star of stage, screen, and television.  Did you know that Begley is also very eco-friendly and is a very strong supporter of environmental issues in the United States and across the world.  He uses both his voice and money to help support those organization that work at improving and guarding the environment from harm.  He has received many awards from some of the most prestigious environmental groups across the country.  He has served as chairman of the board for groups like: Tree People, Earth Communications Office, Thoreau Institute, Environmental Media Association, and Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy.

You might know Bill Clinton as a former President of the United States but he is also eco-friendly with his charity and foundation work over the past years and into the future.  Certainly he is very much a supporter and contributor for world heath issues but is also a supporter of a better and cleaner environment.  The Clinton Foundation Climate Change Intiative  provides resources for participating cities to help save on energy costs and there by helping to save and protect the environment with better control of energy costs and savings.  He continues to use his voice and his foundations to help create a better environment for the world.

Jack Johnson and his band work very hard all year to be eco-friendly and support many environmental issues throughout the world.  He has created the All At Once Campaign which supports broad issues for the environment by providing $2500 from each of his shows to help create a better place to live, work, and play.  Johnson also supports the Australian Marine Conservation Society  which work to increase the protection of sea turtles which are threatened by pollution in our planet’s oceans and waters.  He also has supported Live Earth, Heal the Ocean, and 1% for the Planet organizations which are all dedicated to environmental issues of the planet Earth.

Owen Wilson has been an advocate of of the eco-friendly Prius for several years, even asking for the hybrid whenever Studio’s offer him a car on the set of his movies.

With his own unique sense of humor, he at times downplays his status as an eco-friendly celebrity but in his case actions speak louder than words.

Last year he made the move to a completely solar-powered home in an eco-friendly community on Maui.

Owen joins friends Woody Harrelson and Pierce Brosnan as residence.

This Hollywood Hunk is not afraid to speak his mind and let his passions be known.

An outspoken supporter of the “Save Darfur” program, you can count on George to be at the forefront of the media vanguard when it comes to the social conscience of the nation.

Clooney was one of the first celebrities to signon for the Tribute to Heroes Concert after the 9/11 attacks in NYC.  He was also on board to help victums of the Tsunami in South Asia in 2004.

Voted as one of People magazines “Sexiest Men Alive”, Clooney was also one of the first owners of the all electric, Commuter cars Tango.  And of course, you can spot George tooling around town in his sexy Tesla Roadster.

It seems Hollywood is becoming the Land of the Green and I’m talking about all the cash flowing around them Hills.

More and more A-List actors are devoting their resources and voices towards eco-friendly causes these days.

Today we feature the actor, Leonardo Dicaprio

Known for his blockbuster role in Titanic, Leonardo has taken his fame to become a strong defender of the environment.  A Board Member of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRC) and Global Green USA since 2004, DiCaprio puts his money where his mouth is by Narrating environmental documentary films like, 11th Hour a film that depicts the impact of humans on the environment.

He was also a part of the Red Line campaign for Gap which donates half of all profits to the Global Fund.

In 2008, Leo purchased a $3,600,000 Eco-Friendly Condo as part of the Riverhouse project in Manhattan.

It seems the wild child of Hollywood is a lot more caring than he wants us to believe.
