Toyota Announces Sale of Electric Car Charging Stations

The biggest problem with plug-in Electric vehicles has been one of range.   As popularity grows for these environmentally friendly cars so will the need for a solution to this problem.

Toyota has announced the sale of individual Electric Car Charging Stations with the hopes that these stations will become available coast to coast.

The Stations will retail around $4,500 and were developed with Nitto Electric Works.  Each station will feed single phase electric power at 200 V and 16 A.

Electric Car Capital of the United States

mayornewsomIt seems the Mayors of San Francisco,  Oakland and San Jose  set out on a mission back in November of 2008.  Their goal is to become the Electric Car Capital of the United States.

With the addition of Electric Car Charging Stations in front of City Hall, San Francisco Mayor, Gavin Newsom shows his commitment to the goal.  San Francisco already has a municipal fleet of Electric Vehicles.

Mayor Newsom also stated that he was one of the orginial owners of the Electric EV1 more than a decade ago.
