For most people the idea of an eco-friendly car brings up images of stripped down not very visually appealing vehicles, but the cool Tesla is changing all that with it’s sleek designs, quick acceleration and long range driving.

The hefty $92,000 price tag keeps it out of the economy class but is still within the reach of the well to do environmentally friendly crowd.

Now all I have to do is save up 5,740,000 pennies and I’ve got my dream car.

Yep! for a only $57,400 I can own a super eco-friendly all electric car that rivals some of the best gas-hogging luxury models.

Tesla Motors, which happens to be backed by none other than Elon Musk of Paypal fame, announced it will be manufacturing the luxury all electric Model S Sport Sedan in Hawthorne, California.

Unlike Tesla’s $109,000 Roadster which only produces 1200 new vehicles per year, the Model S is expected to manufacture up to 20,000 vehicles a year beginning in 2011.

I better start saving those pennies quick.
